Getting There

Cornet Bay Retreat Center sits at the edge of Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island — Washington's longest island, and one of its most beautiful. Despite being an island, you'll drive the whole way: Whidbey is connected to the mainland by the historic Deception Pass Bridge, a 1935 steel arch bridge that spans the churning tidal narrows it's named for. If you've never driven it, prepare to pull over and stare.

From Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
About 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Head north on I-5, take exit 230 toward Burlington / Highway 20, weave through some roundabouts (2nd exit for both) and cross the famous bridge and turn left on Cornet Bay Rd — the entrance to the camp is just 0.4 miles further and on your left.

Oak Harbor · 15 minutes · The closest town to the venue, with plenty of budget-friendly hotels and all the basics.

La Conner · 30 minutes · Our top recommendation. A small, walkable arts town on the Swinomish Channel with excellent restaurants, galleries, museums, and a river waterfront.

Coupeville · 30 minutes · A charming historic town on Penn Cove, known for its mussels, waterfront wharf, and Victorian architecture.
